This tree centerpiece is a clever way to use up your scrapbook paper scraps, and it should cost next to nothing to make! You will need a vase, scrapbook paper scraps, branches, and 24-gauge floral wire. Other materials include card stock or cardboard (for your leaf templates), glue (they used regular ‘ole Elmer’s here!), scissors (to cut out the leaf shapes), and newspaper (to keep your work area clean!).
Everyday Mom Ideas has a great pic-heavy tutorial on their site for putting these together. Basically, you will need to create two different-sized leaf templates and cut out several leaves from your scrapbook paper. The floral wire is then sandwiched between two leaves (using the glue), and the wire is wrapped around the branches. So fun!
You could easily do themed versions of this idea, using red and green scrapbook paper for Christmas, black and orange for Halloween, or pastels for Easter. You could also make several to use as table centerpieces at a wedding reception or other special event.
