My seven year old absolutely loves my box of extra scrapbook paper scraps! I am always on the look out for easy crafts that he can work on while I work on my projects, and recently, I found the adorable quilled birds pictured above on the Family Fun website.
We haven’t made them yet, and to be honest, I think he will need a little assistance with this project, but it looks like a fun way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon!
The bodies of the birds are made from strips of scrapbook paper – I have plenty of that! Other than tacky glue and scissors, the only other materials needed to make these “tweethearts” are a clothespin (to hold the strips of paper together while the glue dries), and a toothpick, which is used to roll the paper around to make the eyes of the birds. I have a feeling that we will be making an entire flock of these little critters!
