I am always looking for fun and creative ways to use my scrapbook paper scraps, and today, I came across a great idea from Julie at Less Than Perfect Life of Bliss. Her idea? Road trip clips! These clips are made from clothespins and scrapbook paper paper and other supplies, such as stickers and die cuts. You will need one for each child.
These are actually easy enough that the kiddos can make their own, so I listed them under the kids’ crafts section. My boys are only a couple of weeks into their summer vacation, but I have been hearing the “B-word” (aka B-O-R-E-D) more and more, so I am always looking for ways to keep them busy. My plan is to let my boys decorate their own, and I might even make one each for me and my husband.
So, after they are made, what do you do with these? They go on the car visor, and as long as everyone is well-behaved, the clip stays on the visor. At the end of the trip or at a rest stop, if the clip is still up, it’s treat time. However, if anyone misbehaves, their clip comes down, and they will not receive a treat.
So, did these road trip clips work on Julie’s 16-hour road trip with her kiddos? Hop on over to her blog to find out…
