Here in Indiana, there’s a chill in the air. It won’t be long before old man winter blows into town, and that means that Christmas is just around the corner! It’s not too soon to start planning handmade gifts, and this year, I can’t wait to make washer necklaces for my mom and mother-in-law, nieces, and my sons’ teachers (and of course, for me too!).
These necklaces from Craftster.org are super simple to make, and because they use scrapbook paper, they can be easily personalized to reflect the interests of the person who receives one. For example, for my oldest son’s choir teacher, I need to look through my paper stash and see if I have any paper with musical notes. In addition to scrapbook paper, you will need to raid the toolbox for washers (or pick up a handful at the hardware store). You will also need mod podge, Ranger Glossy Accents clear gloss medium, and paracord or other string.
